Remodeling a kitchen is usually the longest, most disruptive project a homeowner takes on. We have spent years turning that into something straightforward and genuinely pleasant.

What a Mik Homes kitchen includes

Most first-floor remodels are finished within six to eight weeks, and smaller kitchens within four to six. Because our contractors are in-house rather than subcontracted out, the schedule stays ours to keep, and you always know who is in your home and why.

Every kitchen runs through the same sequence: demolition, rough-ins, drywall, paint, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, then backsplash and final connections. Your project is not finished until every punch-list item is closed out.

We work throughout Columbus, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Grove City, Dublin, Powell, Plain City, Worthington, Westerville, Gahanna, New Albany, Lewis Center, Delaware and Marysville.

Cabinetry and storage

Cabinets, pantries and custom range hood covers built and installed to suit the room, with hardware fitted once the counters are in.

Countertops and backsplash

Templating happens once cabinetry is set, with roughly a one-week turnaround to installation, then the backsplash follows.

Flooring and paint

Hardwood and tile go down before the cabinetry, LVP after. Walls and ceilings are painted before any finish work begins.

Appliances and connections

Final appliance, plumbing and electrical connections are made and tested, then we close out every punch-list item with you.

Finalize The Details

We meet again to confirm your selections, check the blueprints, sign the contract and collect the deposit.

We Get To Work

Our in-house contractors begin planning and you are given a confirmed start date, usually within a few weeks.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

We typically complete an entire first-floor remodel within six to eight weeks, and smaller kitchens within four to six. Your project runs through a set sequence of demolition, rough-ins, drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and finally backsplash and connections, so you always know which stage you are at.

What does the remodeling process look like?

If you want to go ahead, we meet again to confirm your decisions, verify the blueprints, sign the contract and collect the deposit. Do you use subcontractors?

Our contractors are in-house. That is deliberate: it is how we keep the schedule under our own control, keep the standard consistent across every trade, and make sure the person managing your project can answer for the work being done in your home.

What does a design consultation cost?

Nothing. The in-home consultation, the design and the written proposal are all free, with no obligation to proceed. You will have the drawings and the numbers in front of you before you are asked to commit to anything.

When is the project considered finished?

Your project is not complete until every punch-list item is resolved. Final payment is collected at that point, not before, and customer satisfaction is the principle the whole company is built on.
